I use a lawn service at $35 per cut for the grass (mow, edge, blow) but plant and trim the trees and shrubs myself.
The yard is .24 of an acre according to the county but the back yard is more a green patio than a yard due to the hillside being so steep for the last 25 ft. of the property. I have put lots of plants on that slope to keep it from washing dirt down like it did the first two years.
The front yard generally looks the best. I would guess that the sale value of the house now would be about $240,000 but I have no plans to sell. I paid $193,000 5 years ago to buy it.
