Traded in the 2016 Ford Explorer Limited for a Ford Explorer Limited 2020, both had ruby red exterior and black interior. Here is the new ride:
Trade in was valued at $21,000 and I put $25,578.35 with it for a total vehicle cost of $46,578.35.

Last yard work for the year. Cost $50. Leaves didn't seem to want to come down this year, last year they were down a couple of weeks earlier.

TIME FOR NEW GLASSES
Every few years you get an eye exam and if there is any change you get a new updated script.
6 Weeks ago I had an exam which showed minor changes from the old exam, but I decided to get all new glasses anyway.
Prices seem down from what I recall from prior purchases.
My exam was done by the group that did my cataract surgery 3+ yrs ago, my comments are on the cost of new frames and lenses but all firms selling them also have optometrists associated with them for the exams.
I used BJ's Wholesale (Exit 7 off 575) for the distance and reading glasses. You do NOT need membership in BJ's to use the optical dept. The frames and lenses were $140 each.
Today I went to Visionworks (Exit 19 off 575) and got a pair of prescription lenses and frame for $120. They have a LOT of frames available, many more than BJ's. As usual takes 10 days to make them up.
So I was pleased to note prices seem reasonable at both places.

HOME 3 1/2 YRS:
Nice backyard. The 156' of new fence cost $2,950, so it better look nice.
The side yard started out with a lot of weeds but by using a lawn service for 2 + yrs it now looks OK. 10' in from the curb is mine but it really isn't as that space is for utilities and all I can do with it is mow it. It really is just a utility easement but it makes my place look bigger.

Wed. 4/24/2019 - Dear Diary:
Today my car would not start.
I called AAA and 90+ min later they showed up and jumped the battery.
Decided to get it tested, so I went to the local Ford dealership and they confirmed it was in need of being replaced. Cost was about $134.
Went to 5 Guy's for late lunch. $10.50.
Stopped by P O Bx. Bills and junk mail.
Got a haricut. Wed is Senior Discount day. $12.49.
Went home to pay Amexp and Citibank bills. $303 & $85.
So comes to an end another day in Paradise.
------------------------------------------
Have both lawn services back this year. The cut, edge and blow is the usual $40 every other week. The one that handles the weeds and ferterlizer is 7-8 times a year for $47 a visit. Better than doing it myself. I do trim the bushes but that is all I do. Used the lawnmower 1 time in 3 1/2 years.

Got the yearly renewal notice for plates. State wants their $20 renewal fee.
This time around I need to get the car inspected which in most places costs $25, but SpeeDee says they do it for $10. This is the old Mienike location next to the Micky D's on Marietta Hwy in Canton. (N. of Exit 14 on 575)
Usually I don't have a vehicle long enough to have to get an inspection, but this time around I put off an Explorer 2019 purchase as the E is being completely redone for 2020 so no use wasting $ to buy a 2019, which is going to be a short production year for the E anyway.
Last 2 times I purchased I said it would be the last time as I didn't think I would live long enough to have to buy another car. Unfortunately I am still here and unless I get lucky it seems I will be having to buy a 2020.

Had a cleaning service come in today. 3 maids, cost $312 and $40 for a tip. Something to do every 3 years or so.
MONDAY, APRIL 8, 2019
MONDAY was a reasonably successful day here in Paradise-
1) The Sun Trust check for $6,665.44 arrived. Via Certified mail and wouldn't you know it just when I went to get dressed the mailman tried to deliver it. I got notified of the delivery attempt on the computer. These days in addition to leaving a slip in the box it also shows up in real time online. So I got in the car and went after him, got the check and all was well.
2) Went home and finished off the thank you letter to the Congressman.
3) Went to my Holly Mill POB where my 50 ST Sucks post cards were waiting for me.
4) I Had already made up address stickers and had available 10, 35 cent stamps, so 10 of the post cards went out to ST pin heads I wanted to annoy.
5) Went to Marietta for an eye Doctor appointment. Got a slightly altered script for new glasses if I want to fill it and found out my cataract in the left eye had not gotten much worse, so for now there would be no need to have surgery like I had 3 years ago for the right eye.
6) Off to check the Marietta POB which seldom has anything of worth in it and all but 2 items went right into the trash.
7) Then to the Piccadilly Cafeteria for a nice dinner with 10% off as I was there between 2-4 pm, when old folks get a discount.
8) Then home, since it was raining most of the drive I also got a free car wash.
TUESDAY is less interesting as I will deposit the check in another account and have lunch.
Can't have too many exciting days I guess.

HM is a 663 home subdivision created in 4 phases. My house is in the View, probably about 190 homes in this section.
Don't get too many visitors!
Seems that I signed up for it in 2009, used it a few times and forgot about it until a couple of months ago.
So I have made a few minor posts recently but probably won't get much use out of it.
I did sign up to 'follow' Trump and the White House accounts.
